Who are we ?
We are the children from the "Sf. Nicolae" Orphanage in Bucharest, Sector 5, and in the following lines we shall try to introduce our world and we to you.
Our home is placed at 14 Baltagului street; it's a gray painted house but the sound of children's laughs are coloring the atmosphere and showing that here are happening wonderful things.
In this
house live together 160 boys with ages of 10-18 that live a family-like life.
Inhere there is a continuous celebration, nobody is separated and everyday is different than the other day.
Anyone can see the joy of living and hope for finding someday their families. Till then every child is following his destiny and do his duty as student.
But let's travel a little through our home!
At the entrance there is a large and shiny room where we serve our meals. We are four boys at every table. The ladies that cook for us are very skilled and their food is very tasty and enough for everybody. In
the same room take place a lot of parties and celebrations organized by us for Christmas, Easter, Children's Day, Mother's Day.
At the first floor is placed the Director's Office. Here is also the library
where we relax and get our necessary documentation, and the study room where every child can use anytime.
From this floor, in the evening, from the music studio, come a sound of guitar this meaning that
the guitar orchestra is practicing new songs in order to improve their repertoire. There is a wonderful atmosphere!
At the same floor, near the educators room, is the Computer Club for Children, a present
from Andrea Foundation, due to Andrea Foundation we have now the possibility to describe you our beautiful house!
But let's continue our travel!
At the second floor there is the dormitory
that has everything we need:beds, individual wardrobe, tables. Our spare time (which is very reduced during the school year) is used to watch TV, in our colleague Cosmin room. Our younger colleague (from 3rd-6th degree)
lives on the 3rd floor.
We are a real big family! We the elder kids take care of the younger ones and we are all cared by the educators.
Our life in this Orphanage is wonderful, we have
everything we need for decent living, in order to study and grow up.
When we shall be adults we shall contribute to our country development. Note: This is the translation of a letter
