The Andrea Foundation
Goals

The primary activity of the Andrea Foundation is to empower people to promote better health in Romania by serving as the country coordinator for collaboartive programs with the Dreyfus Health Foundation (New York). These programs include:

  • Problem Solving for Better Health® (PSBH®) - a program based on the belief that answers to many health problems can be found locally, by looking within, rather than waiting for solutions from the outside.
  • Problem Solving for Better Health Initiative™ (PSBHI™) - a program that begins where PSBH leaves off, moving from a focus on individual projects to community-wide projects, involving multiple sectors of the community working together.
  • Problem Solving for Better Health Nursing™ (PSBHN™) - a program that unites nurses in a mission to improve health worldwide.
  • Communications for Better Health® (CBH®) - a program that focuses on improving accessibility to health information - information that is essential to problem solving.

Additional activities with the Children's Help Net Foundation (New York) and other NGOs include:

  • Support of emergency medical care for children.
  • Providing social assistance to the Romanian Orphanages and other care institutions.
  • Improving the living conditions of institutionalized children by providing donations of food, clothes, drugs, and technical support (furniture, washing machines, kitchen instruments, etc.).
  • Supporting educational programs for institutionalized children.
  • Providing financial support for children with special medical and surgical needs.
  • Informing about and emphasizing the needs of children to media and to the Romanian authorities.
